I think the best part of living in Guthrie is the small town closeness and friendliness! Also that I have my family here!

What does Guthrie have that other towns don't?

Red Brick nights in the summer time! Bluegrass Festival in the Fall! Movies being filmed often! And the Lazy E!

Are you a GHS alumni?

Yes! I am a GHS Alumni, Class of 1984. Our class is still very close after all these years! Also! Thanks to Facebook and our 30 year class reunion I was reconnected with my classmate, Gary Ferris, Jr., who is now my husband of 2 years!

What do you love most about your job?

Family business! My grandpa, Harley Walter Kellogg was the Logan County Farm Bureau agent from 1941-1951. In 1951 he started his own business, Kellogg Insurance Agency. My dad, John Kellogg took over in 1965. So you see, it seems the right thing to do to carry on with the family business that has been around for 67 years! I also love my co-worker, Ashley Clymer, who is also my best friend! We work GREAT together and she is a great asset to our business!!

If you grew up in Guthrie and had your first job here...where? Did you get fired?

My first job was at Logan County Rural Water District when I was in high school and no I didn't get fired! LOL

I wear my GuthrieAmerica tee because I am proud of my town and love to represent it wherever I go! I own 5 different colors! LOL

What are your favorite things to do in Guthrie?

I would have to say my favorite things to do in Guthrie would be to go to Red Brick nights and believe it or not, to go to the gym, Anytime Fitness!! OH and one more thing would be spending time at Guthrie Nutrition with some of the best friends that have made a huge difference in my life over the last year!

How would you define what it means when you hear or say COMMUNITY WINS?

Community Wins - Guthrie is a very giving community! People step up when people are in need. My father, John Kellogg is a prime example of Community Wins! He has gone above and beyond to help others right here in our community! When I think about what my father has done for this community, WWJD comes to mind! So many others right here in our community have helped also! Our community is close and we WIN when we help our neighbors in need!

Anything significant about your life you would like to share?

I was told at a young age that I was adopted. Never really thought a whole lot about it because I have been so blessed to have the parents I have. I just found out who my birth parents are just a few months ago when I did Ancestry DNA. They both died in 2012, 6 months apart. They were married 43 years! A little while later I found out I have full blood younger brother and sister! Here is the CRAZY PART! My birth parents lived right here in Guthrie! At one point just a couple of blocks down from my Grandma and Grandpa Kellogg on the west side! I see my brother and sister often and talk to them almost every day! After 52 years of not knowing anything, this sure has put a closure on many unanswered questions. My parents have been so supportive! I am blessed beyond measure and my heart is overflowing!
